Art Trove is a key addition to the Singapore museum scene. The private museum specializes in displaying the works ofexceptionally talented artists whose works may not have received adequate recognition owing to the vagaries of history. The flagship exhibition will feature the works of the German Expressionist, Ewald Platte (1884-1985), whose estate Art Trove manages. The Ewald Platte exhibition will begin in October 2010. Until then, Art Trove will feature the works of Strawalde (Jürgen Bötcher), a living artist with an avid following in Germany. Art Trove's philosophy is that great works of historical significance must be kept together as one collection and given the proper exposure. In meeting this objective, Art Trove has assembled a core collection of Ewald Platte's most significant works. It will augment the collection with documentation, films and other media pertaining to Platte's life. Once fully documented and exhibited around the world, this quality collection will be sold as one to a Government or international museum. Single non-core paintings will be available for sale to help finance the undertaking. Singapore will be the nucleus for Art Trove's travelling international exhibitions.
