Faces, Hands, Feet & Little Things features a collection of paintings, drawings and small-scale installations based on the artist’s acute observations of the very basic things in everyday life – the faces that she sees, the hands that she touches, the feet that she passes by and the little things in general, on the streets, that the public sometimes overlooks.
About chin
chin is a Fine Arts (Painting) Diploma graduate from LASALLE College of the Arts. She is currently a practicing artist and curator in Singapore. She has been active in the local art scene since graduating, and has performed in numerous festivals, including Fetter Field no1 & no3, The Substation’s anniversary SeptFest, the Night Festival 2010 and R.I.T.E.S (Rooted in the Ephemeral Speak) 2010.
Her international works includes Maju Jaya in Yogyakarta, NIPAF, Japan performance art festival 2008 and Performance in Frames in Bangkok 2010. She has exhibited visual art works in LASALLE College of the Arts’ Praxis space and the Esplanade Tunnel.
Her curatorial project includes NOTEBOOK VOL:1 BEGIN, a note book making project in 2010 which involved nine artists which was presented in The Substation Gallery. In 2011, She curated and published an art journal, Almost Everything, which features a collection of works from artists and individuals from the creative scene in Singapore. It was published to commemorate Front Row, a fashion boutique’s 5 year anniversary. She is also a recipient of the Georgette-Chen Arts Scholarship presented by the Singapore National Arts Council.
