Wang Yi Da was born in Shanghai, he went to University of Hawaii pursuing Fine Arts Master degree in 1980s. And now holds the post of Associate professor there.

Wang Yi Da's passion for landscape painting, represented not merely in his mature techniques in ink painting, but in the artistic mood. What he is chasing is the use the current ways and languages to express his view and cultural expectation towards the landscape, This is also a connection between past and current landscape culture.
