Nature Morte presents a solo show of recent works by Nidhi Agarwal. A native of New Delhi, Nidhi Agarwal creates art works that straddle all of the usual definitions: abstract and figurative, painting and drawing, spontaneous and premeditated, real and fantastical, the raw and the cooked. Her works combine the emotional punch of Expressionism with the critical commentary of Pop. Colorful, energetic and at times disturbing, her works are the honest expressions of a young woman living in urban India today. Born in 1972, Nidhi Agarwal studied painting at the College of Art, New Delhi and has had solo shows of her work at Art Konsult Gallery (1999) and Dhoomimal Gallery (2009), both in New Delhi.
