'Desire' is not just 'wish'. When people can't get what they wanted, a sense of loss produces a great stir, and feelings of anxiety and fear. As a small stone makes big wave on the surface of the calm lake, human desire leaves a big trace in any way.
People are afraid of pains approaching suddenly, so they try to hide their true colors. I focus on wrong desires compromised the reality. It is within the ambiguous boundary between reality and fantasy, and is reflected on backgrounds of paintings, such as desert or grave. As suppressed desires sometimes become an issue in our lives like mirage, people face with fundamental fear, 'death', from the bottom of the heart. Highly developed material civilization promises richness but urges to participate in a hard struggle for existence. For a stable life, a man who compromised with the reality cowardly is shown as an eyeless person in art works. Ironically, a man in painting cannot 'see', but can get a chance to focus on own desire instead, and it is expressed as talon, drum, gloves and so on.
Extreme desire is beautiful. There is no other meaningful evidences of life than pain. So I paint anxiety, pain and fear.
