TAKSU Kuala Lumpur is honored to present Water, a group show by Sabri Idrus, Budi Agung Kuswara, Jigger Cruz and I Made Arya Palguna.
Artists from the Asian continent but of surrounding countries, this exhibition is set in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to bring together 4 artists with one binding agent between these lands, the sea; Water. With Sabri Idrus, an established Malaysian artist who has traveled far and wide yet with firm ground of home, Budi Agung Kuswara (Kabul), a Balinese born Indonesian who is currently residing in Singapore, Jigger Cruz, a notable, upcoming contemporary Filipino artist and I Made Arya Palguna, a Yogyakarta based Indonesian artist is presenting a sight into the thematically driven idea of water, a unifying element chosen to depict both the similarity and differences between artworks of their area.
An individualistic and stylistic mix of expressions, these artworks come with a conscious awareness of the subject matter of water. From Kabul’s pre-formed obsession with the sea to Sabri’s venture into a fresh element of nature, this theme will incite a large entirety of passion, struggle, identity and perhaps an unaccustomed use of thoughts. The question of whether the charm of water will prevail in this manner is simply answered by the confidence of the transfusing of this elite selection of artists.
