KCUA is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Hiroshi Mizuta.
After graduation of Kyoto City University of Arts, Hiroshi Mizuta has held the solo exhibitions at Artcourt Gallery, MEM, and Gallery Kei-fu, and participated in MOT Annual (Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo), and VOCA (The Ueno Royal Museum). Until now, Mizuta has announced the art works inspired by collected resources, sketch, experience and memory. In this exhibition, as looking back a doodle or a copy of cartoon before getting educated, he tries to find a connection to current works.
One of exhibited works, there is a series of oil painting on canvas combining with another cut work. There are some works regardless of size, incompletion or blank space, or paintings behind flyers. As combining with another work, incomplete image can be accumulated and it becomes a depth and thickness of a scene. The title 'Retropolis' was thrived from looking back his honest desire for painting and the effect of art education, and developing a new series by them.
