Art Base 1 (AB1) was founded by the Catholic Jesuits’ Association and is managed by The Penha Creative Association.

Established in Macau as a non-profit association. AB1 has a commitment to develop local art and culture and to promote art education as well as nurture talents with foresight and artistic creativity.

AB1 currently sponsors 14 local artists studios and promotes an annual program of international and local artists exhibitions as well as workshops, seminars and art courses.

AB1 Gallery is also available for rental of outside groups depending on the local calendar. All funds will be used to support AB1 activities and structure.

Situated in an industrial building, AB1 consists of three floors from a former factory, with approximately total area of 36,000 square feet.

The third and the fourth floors include 14 Art Studios with different sizes ranging from 300 to 1,300 square feet. These Studios have been designed for artists or groups engaging in creative and exhibiting activities. The fifth floor is an exhibition hall with an area of approximately 7,000 square feet.

AB1 Gallery is available for leasing to local or International Artists, and complementary for the residing artists.

AB1 welcomes all Art proposals from local and international parties that wish to utilise the beautiful installations managed by Penha Creative Association.
