Harmony Analysis
by Imura Art Gallery
Location: Imura Art Gallery
Artist(s): Noriyuki NAKAYAMA, Kaori WATANABE
Date: 2 Mar - 27 Mar 2010

Imura art gallery is pleased to present "Harmony Analysis: Noriyuki Nakayama, Kaori Watanabe".
Noriyuki Nakayama (born in 1968, Nagano) studied oil painting at Musashino Art University, and he accepted for the Shell Art Award 2003 and then he was voted VOCA in 2006. Nakayama keeps consistently drawing the woman. His work consists by innumerable color layers. Face of woman closed up to full canvas. He said that the model is a memory and an image that Nakayama has. His creation originates from an extremely personal, natural desire of expressing feelings and the impression that arises from meeting in daily life, he expresses and sublimes the simple shape.

On the other hand, Kaori Watanabe (born in 1984, Shizuoka) keeps drawing not mature woman but girl. The Kyoto Saga art university graduate school art research course was completed, and a graduate special prize was won in the Kyoto Saga art university graduation production exhibition last year. She expresses the susceptible girls' world who has combined innocence and maturity by the technical strength and power of expression. There is the harmonious world of boldness and sensitivity.

Nakayama and Watanabe's works are common in the point of beauty, though there are some key differences between Nakayama and Watanabe; man / woman, acrylic / japanese painting. We will exhibit their old work and recent work. It would be greatly appreciated if it could enjoy the conversation with their works to search for the secret of beautiful harmony.
