Artist(s): Kaori EBATA, Myounghee SIM, Yoshiko SHINGAKI, Chihiro TAKEUCHI, Yukari MOMODA, Takehito YUI
Date: 15 Sep - 29 Sep 2012

Imura art gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition "An object speaks" launching on Saturday 15th September. The exhibition showcases paintings by 6 current students and graduates of Kyoto University of Art and Design learning / having learnt under Etsuko Kawamura, an oil painter represented by imura art gallery. The common feature among the artists is that they choose representative objects for their motifs. They attempt to not just portray their surficial appearance, but go further to depict energy the objects hold or value reflected on them. Persons, animals, plants… each image speaks different matters, but they all seek to remain the voice itself speaking about the objects onto canvas.
