Maoya Kishi mainly works on installation and sculpture but on the contrary to cubic effect or sense of volume, his works have unique lightness from materials he uses, such as blue sheet, blowing styrole, and lumber, with simple structure. He has held solo and group exhibitions in various places including Maison Hermes and National Museum of Art, Osaka, with great attentions.
In this exhibition, after making a component as big as a market, Kishi creates work in extended structural scale and exhibits these big and small works contrastively. Plane work on canvas or sheet using the wall and a structure corresponding to its composition or contents with pictorial approach will be on view.
