Wandering Sparkles
by Kodama Gallery Kyoto
Location: Kodama Gallery Kyoto
Artist(s): Eiichi NISHIMORI
Date: 8 Sep - 13 Oct 2012

Nishimori has held the first solo exhibition '(A) SONG (S)' at Kodama gallery in 2007, exhibiting drawings by charcoal. Repeating to draw lines, about 100 artworks are formed by shape, rhythm and images leading chaotic lines, under the theme 'The sound of cutting the air'. And this series is inspired by one of basic ideas of Hegelian dialetic. In his solo exhibition 'Tinctura, 2009, he has showed theoretical works based on chromatics. Painting by colour pencils or water colours actualized 'Tintura' by Goethe, expressing colour freely and light and shade sensuously, with the concept 'Light'.

He has tried 'positive' painting, which is liberated from consciousness and sense. Nishimori always paints intrasigently to resist his own obsession with 'I cannot paint', and he has finally overcome and reached the new stage beyond the boundary made by himself.

The point of this exhibition is that 'being positive as it is', and 'Re-thinking everything positively'. He said that 'affirmation' means returning to fundamental basis where before corruption was created. 'To express something', he tries to express 'organic painting' positively, rather than the other one being like collage which consists of existing meanings or forms. In this exhibition, Nishimori's new artworks will show his philsophy clearly as well as his own technique.
