Artist Statement
In these 2 recent photographic works, I focus on suicidal jumps which had happened last year. A man in his 20s had plunged to death from the rooftop of his flat, alongside a policeman who was attempting to save him, on 5th of June in 2008 in Busan, South Korea. Not like previous works in the same series, there is an attempt to exclude protagonists who generate the significance of the accident. Yet, I try to open the narrative and see how a quotidian and banal space can be an anti-space that sights everyday terror and tragedy. Those stage sets and photographs are Ephemera (Items of short-lived duration, use, or interest) of Ephemera (a short-lived thing).
