These days, I ask my acquaintances a question in regards to "the first night" and collect individual memories of their nights. Is it because of lacks in light? "Night" naturally and often reveals passage of sensation rather than its vision. Memories of their "nights" I have heard are mostly stories formed by senses of hearing, touch, smell, and taste. I am presenting my early works of the night series based on collected fragments of night that are arranged and reconstituted here and there; from the street lights that are exposed in allies and residential areas as well as serene night scenes of starry night, to metaphorical attributes of private yet secret nights - a specific site, time, events, dreams, and etc. - in regards to the emotions of the universal mankind. For example, through stories within the territory such as loss, loneliness, alienation, fear, calmness, drowsiness, peaceful, birth, and death, I wanted to recollect these memories as if I find endless attributes of the forms of a night.
