Gallery Factory is pleased to announce the fourth exhibition of 'Arctic Fever series', international exchanged project with Scandinavian contemporary art since 2011. The artist transforms ordinary objects relating to living space into art work filling with spirit. Such work evolves based on a relationship between a person and group, and a concept of modify.
An important thing in this exhibition is a link with cultural distinctiveness or context of Korea. Concern about it is started from collecting references on a process of research. 'Beginnings and Ends' using a paper, which is originally from Oriental culture, and 'Passage Through the Lost Spaces' applying a wall paper discovered in Korea can be a good example.
Especially, a structure of 'Passage Through the Lost Spaces' is inspired by a form and meaning of Korean wrapping cloth. The artist has been working as adding the new meaning to previous works with new context and such process has been applied to all works.
The theme 'Passage' is repeatedly showed on Eva Steen Christensen's exhibition. Ideas, 'beginning and end', 'process' and 'revival', reveal at the beginning of the exhibition in new form or formativeness.
