Gallery IHN is pleased to hold the first solo exhibition of Yang Maoyuan in Seoul entitled 'Trace of Time'. Yang Maoyuan was born in Dalian, China in 1966 and received his Bachelor's degree in Printing from Central Institute of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1989. That same year, he participated at the Modern Art Grand Show of China. In 2002, he won the CCAA (China Contemporary Art Award).
Yang is considered as one of the most creative artists in China, he is well known for his large and diverse body of work encompassing painting, sculpture, photography and installation. His artworks are widely collected by public institutions and private collectors. Yang's artworks have been exhibited in numerous international shows in different cities; Pompidou Center, the National Museum of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Dresden Art Center, Today Art Museum, Martin-Gropius-Bau Museum, Erdos Art Museum, Padua Villa Breda Museum and Medici Riccardi Palace. In 2011, as one of the five artists elected to attend Venice Biennale, Yang represented China at the Chinese Pavilion of Venice Biennale.
