Arario Gallery Seoul is pleased to fourth solo exhibition by Insane Park. 'Director's Cut' is reedited version of film with marketability by director's intention and direction . The title of the exhibition also means that reedited images sent from media based on the artist's purpose.
Insane Park collects impressive images by his intuition or sense, and records and edit them using photography. Results based on the process will be on display. The viewers can feel like seeing randomly collected images in a folder. Also, they infer a relationship or intention between edited images freely.
A role of the artist in the exhibition is a director, who created results with minimized certain idea or concept, rather than 'creator.' As copying, distributing and extending collected images, the artist makes new ones. As the results of play by Insane Park's intuitive collection and edit, images easily found on the internet have the same way of production in media.
In the exhibition, Insane Park borrows direct editing form of media as it is. He collects images edited by 'Photoshop' on the internet . He creates results as applying some effects in the computer programs, such as Expand, Pixelate, Blur, and Brightness, to objets, or changing frame. The artist talks about a gap between imagination and reality through making plane and virtual image exist in the reality.
Insane Park got a prize at Etro Art Award in 2013, and has held solo exhibitions at Young Eun Museum, Arario Gallery and Shinhan Gallery. Also, he has participated in many group exhibition in many countries.
