Hakgojae Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Cho Hwan. Cho Hwan is the artist who has pursued a new type of art through modernistic transformation of Korean painting. Not only focusing on a concept and spirit previous Oriental painting presents, but he also extended the scope of artwork with material's characteristic and widen technique.
The artist's steel work is heavy and slow but has high spirit. His work consists of simplified lines which remind of calligraphy. Installation will be displayed without a frame. White wall the art work is hung seems like beauty of space in Oriental painting. The artist says that when the art work reveals with a shadow on the wall, his work is finally completed.
20 installations and 2 calligraphy works will be on view.
