Artist(s): Ku-lim KIM
Date: 29 Jul - 5 Oct 2014
With Arario Gallery Seoul, Arario Gallery Cheonan will be opening a solo exhibition of Kulim Kim, 'Part 1. He is Avant-garde: Works from 1960s to 1980s.' The exhibition will feature works from his early figurative painting (1950s), early medium experiment in 1960s, various performance and conceptual painting covering existence and non-existence in 1970s to his works created in the United States in 1980s connected to major concepts in 1970s and a process of yin and yang series linked with his existence/non-existence concept in 1990s. Above all, a big difference of this large scale solo exhibition in Seoul and Cheonan is that the exhibition sheds light on Kulim Kim as the contemporary artist, who desires for something new constantly, rather than someone in a side of the history.
