Gallery Zandari is pleased to present an exhibition, Donata Wenders on view from 30 August to 26 , October. This will be the first exhibition in Korea and harmonized a movie premiere, ‘Pina’ directed by her husband Wim Wenders at the same time. She has been created many of works with films for a long time including Pina. In this exhibition, over 30 works, still cuts of Pina and a body of other her major works took from urban landscape and the people mainly artists like dancers, movie stars and painters will show off. Donata’s approach is a form of reductionism, her means is that of four component and expressive elements, black and white, light and time. All the unnecessary narrative desiderata or material encumbrance of surrounding life have been stripped away, and our eyes arrest upon a sitter experiencing a moment of personal withdrawal. The fact that we are attracted to and identify with many of Donata’s photographs rests to a large extent upon shared feelings that we are looking at ourselves in particular moments of inwardness and reflection.
