German philosopher and critic, Walter Benjamin, expressed a definition of Avant-Garde poetically after seeing Paul Kee's 'The Anger of History,' and since then, this work became the most important icon of Avant-Garde in modern and contemporary history.
Andy Harper, the professor at Goldsmiths College, graduated Royal Academy of Art, and he is the artist who researches on the essence of arts placed in man's inner mind and express it on canvas. Especially, his academical understanding and research on painting shows his talent as a researcher and attempt to develop it as fine painting tells that he is the artist by nature.
The exhibition introduces the essence and development of painting, human inner world he expresses and the world of painting derived from it. He purses a new style but depict his essentials in new works.
Andy Harper has great attentions from various exhibitions in New York, London, Paris, and Berlin, and he is focused by Tate Modern with the solo exhibition 'Archaeology in Reverse' in Cornwall.
His art pieces are collected by Zabludiwicz Collection, Government Art Collection, United Kingdom, Pigozzi Collection, and Lodeveans Collection. Also, his sphere-shaped work got the prize at Latitude Awards.
