Since its establishment in 2007, DOOSAN Gallery has continuously encouraged and supported young artists and their innovative endeavors. Another DOOSAN Gallery and residency program was launched in Chelsea, New York, the world hub of contemporary art, with the objective of introducing young artists and their art practice. The residency program supports 6 artists every year, providing a studio and a living space for 6 months as well as an exhibition at the DOOSAN Gallery. Also, the artists have the opportunity to participate in Studio Visit programs, Open Studios and Artist Talk.
Through the Studio Visit Program, artists are introduced to curators and critics working internationally, having the opportunity to discuss about their work on a profound level. Open Studio provides a site of direct exchange and interaction between art professionals and art lovers, and artists. Artist Talk allows new emerging artists or art students to meet the residency artists and share their ideas, experiences and issues.
Celebrating its 5 th year, DOOSAN Gallery will continue to promote the new creative endeavors of young artists through various programs including exhibition funding in Seoul and New York.
