KOKI ARTS is pleased to host Ryoichi Nakamura's solo exhibition, Recollections. This exhibition will showcase 6 new paintings.
What is memory? What is the past? In his paintings Nakamura tackles the theme of redefining the meaning of life, through "memory" and "recollection". Based on his past experiences and reminiscences, a world beyond time is depicted. Through the work, the viewer can sense the subconscious and at the same time experience nostalgia.
Ryoichi Nakamura (b.1982) moved to Berlin in 2003 (voluntarily dropped out of Tokyo Zokei University) and worked as an artist from 2004-2008. Since returning to Japan, he has been based in Tokyo. This will be his first time exhibiting at KOKI ARTS. Recent exhibitions include the 17th Exhibition of the Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art, solo exhibitions at Gallery Tsubaki and LIXIL GALLERY.
