A man cannot be separate from a place.
He himself is a place.
I was born in Busan.
I never left Busan for more than few days.
The sea and wind of Busan raised me to this day.
The works are of the landscapes of Busan.
A place is where a man experiences the world.
At the same time it places a man by validating his freedom and the depth of being.
In the background of a man's act is a place.
And the act of a man gives place its character.
Every place has its physical and visual form, the landscape.
The spirit of the place lies within these landscapes.
The reason why a place is understood and experienced as landscapes is because its visual characteristics
reflect men's value and intention.
I am a part of landscapes as well as an observer.
Time is often a part of place bound experience.
A place is an expression of past, present and future's events.
Though the works are of Busan's sea and wind, it is actually a 'thick present' containing memoirs and dreams of me.
Time-Image that hold past, present and future.
Images of myself.
