This Japanese character used to denote the ropes, MOYAI that tie boats together at the pier. However, this word disappeared from the usage in the modern Japanese characters. In the ancient Chinese characters, this character indicates he scene where more than one boats are anchored or two boats joined together with the ropes.

The gallery was named with our wish that people come here and join together with their common interest in art.

This Japanese character has the same phonetics as the French word, beaux which means good and beautiful.
