Roaming Scenery
by Metaphysical Art Gallery
Location: Metaphysical Art Gallery
Date: 7 Jan - 26 Feb 2012

The scenery yesterday has gone to tomorrow to play. Along with the steps of the wind and the tracks of growths, the vicissitudes of life were never exciting scenes? Abstract representations on this concrete land is like a roadside theater, seeing and being seen at the depth of the subconscious.

The sceneries artists see are always more profound, while outstanding artworks are always given vitalities and implication far beyond the exploration from all ages throughout. Therefore the intellection and sentiment become the most beautiful view of the scenery. The special exhibition “Wandering Scenery” includes artists of three generations: Ku, Po-Chuan, Wang Pan-Yuan, Chen, Ci-Kwan, Liao Te-Cheng, Wu Hao, Huang Ming-Chang, Cheng Chien-Chang, Jang Tarng-Kuh, Yeh YiLi… views roaming from last century to this instant combining the memories déjà-vu, presenting a paradoxical connotation of life.

Ku, Po-Chuan, called “Oriental Matisse”, gives oil paintings a spirit of traditional ink and wash paintings. Colors on the rice paper is full of vivid aroma. The scenes in his eyes have merged with local customs and traditions. The audience could even tell the different densities of the air between Beijing Forbidden Palace and Tainan Confucius Temple from the diverse layer of red color in his paintings. Wang Pan-Yuan’s gorgeous colors are hidden in wide and desolate background, reflecting the solemn and lonely sun as red as falling sunset. His scenery is flaming fire tossed into life.

Chen, Ci-Kwan through his architectural view, surpasses the spaces of multi-layer, and delicately narrates the kaleidoscopic garden within square frames. The Classic major axis simulates God’s eye to overlook the universe. All living creatures represent the unique exuberance between the alternation of the sun and moon. Wu Hao’s specialty of brilliant colors of regular form always exhibits unexpected variations. The purity, dainty, and charming blossoms interlace to a seamless harmony in his paintings. Huang Ming-Chang weaves a space of boundless waves of rice field. Animatedly green leafs and golden rice ears swing along with the breeze, under the drunk sunshine. Cheng Chien-Chang’s thick strokes and dense structure are like the expression of the land, heavy but merciful. Whether faces, trunks, or stones, plain and honest shape depicts the artist’s passion to the land he grew up on, with unmovable idiosyncrasy move audiences’ heart. Jang Tarng-Kuh discovers affectionate vines entwine the tree to extend up. Willful vines and gentle old tree together present the most touching paragenesis. The beauty and dignity of little life might be the artist’s surprise encounter during roaming, an amazing wedding in Nature.

On the Journey of sceneries, we see sceneries of life. Is it you roaming in them, or they roaming into you? The beginning of 2012, Metaphysical Art Gallery sincerely invite you to roam around together, and discover the most beautiful scenery in our life.
