Subtle breathes, pounding heart beats, Sounds, which surpass visuals, are the clues of life as well as the proof of existence. The ubiquitous mechanical sounds of contemporary life, be it ittransportation, factory equipment, or electronic appliances, these genderless and lifeless products convey their own operating rhythm through the sounds of repetition and triviality. They mark their own existence and voice their self-identity, just as the quiet, hard-to-detect sound of heart pumping blood or human breath.【Sound Creature】invites audio artists from Taiwan and Japan to collaborate and present this unique exhibition in audio art.

The exhibition invites three Japanese sound artists Kazuki Saita, Soichiro Mihara and Hiroko Mugibayashi presenting their collaboration project "Moids 2.0," which participated Coded Cultures Festival in Austria. The work was recently shown in ISEA2010 in Germany. Through the connection between hundreds of electronic audio and sensor devices that can detect the ambience, the artwork creates a hazy and sweeping audio loop that makes audience associate with the soundscape of frogs or an ant mound.

From Taiwan, another three well-known Taiwanese artists will participate the exhibition. WANG Fujui is the director of Trans-Sonic Lab from Center for Art and Technology of Taipei National University of the Arts. He is not only a promoter of audio art in Taiwan, but also a prolific artist. "Sound Dots 2.0" is a work composed of hundreds of speakers. Each speaker creates different frequencies computed by chips as if the sound reverberates in the space from hundreds of dot-like audio generating objects. The flow of large amount of high speed, random variable-controlled sound dots lead audience to a state of sub-consciousness.

CHANG Yung-Ta attempts collaboration in multiple fields. His body of work includes audio-visual, experimental sounds, installation, and live performance. He further explored his creative possibilities in theater and dance with subtitle and explosive energy. He composes time-based sculpture with field recording sources where the exquisite and violent coexist. He tries to combine minimal, ambient and complexities and find the possible.
Branding his personal mark with his work “Fluorescent lights,”YAO Chung-Han combines non-material sources such as sound, light, and space. No matter improvisation or installation, the difference between light and sound in his work take audience to a curious trip of senses. Employing audience as an intersection, Yao Ching-Han presents a strong, direct sensibility.

Let go the common rules, magnify the senses. Galerie Grand Siecle presents 【Sound Creature】 audio art exhibition, which will entice audience’s sensory experience and imagination.
