Michael Sistig’s first solo show in Taiwan starts on Nov. 7th at AKI Gallery. Born in 1982 Bonn, Germany and currently lives in Koln, this artist is widely invited to exhibitions across the world. As Peter Doig’s student, he has arouse highly concerns with his surrealistic paintings reflect his inner scenery and philosophy.
Michael Sistig creates a parallel universe by putting aircraft in chaos wild land and epic character using familiar objects of our daily lives. Mixing his own experience, memory, dream and myth, he utilizes flowing pigment and special color to present a surreal atmosphere and scene. In his magical land, ocean, and sky full of symbols and metaphor, Sistig leads viewers to experience his own universe that shuttle between life and death, past and future. The artist is not telling a precise story, but leaves the “space” for viewers to explore their own consciousness in his works.
