Under 38℃
by AKI Gallery
Location: AKI Gallery
Artist(s): FAN Yang Tsung
Date: 4 May - 26 May 2013

After waiting for two years, Fan Yang Tsung’s whole new series will once again exhibit at AKI Gallery. Fan was once awarded the Special Selection of the Taipei Art Awards at the Taipei Fine Art Museum. The works from his previous series such as: Night Club, Airplane, Weeding series attracted great attention. All these series brought viewers to a magical fantasy world and reshaped the viewing sight and angle of the audiences.

Get ready to enjoy sunburns under the temperature of 38℃! The swimming pool, the blazing sunshine, the interesting tan lines and the slight pain from the skin after sunburns all belong to our memories of summer, which are elements featured in Fan's new series. After creating the Different Space series, Fan, who is good at playing with the elements of different spaces, leads the audience to a personal and private, yet public and open space swimming pool.

Fan makes very intimate and close observations to water surfaces. In order to interpret the fantasy of mild fever, Fan creates stunning water reflections in his paintings. The flaming sunshine, the flow lines, the sparkling bubbles, the drastic kicking and crawling of swimmers under the water are illustrated through his works. All of these elements make a strong contrast to a peaceful atmosphere away from the surface of water. Many original manuscripts will also be included to make this show more comprehensive.
