James Cohan Gallery Shanghai is pleased to announce its winter exhibition Selected Works, opening January 10 and continuing through February 14, 2015.
This exhibition features some of the artists who have shown at the gallery during this past year, including Francesco Clemente, Mark di Suvero, Yun-fei Ji, Richard Long, Yuko Murata, Hiraki Sawa, Li Shan, Fumito Urabe, Li Wenguang, Sue Williams, Shi Zhiying.
Among the highlights of Selected Works are two rarely exhibited hand-painted ceramic vases by Francesco Clemente; world-renowned sculptor Mark di Suvero’s Pizzicare (2013) along with some of his ink and brush drawings, which were featured in the artist’s first-ever exhibition in Shanghai where di Suvero was born eighty years ago; and Hiraki Sawa’s inmate video sculpture titled Record (2011) that is viewed from the inside of a small early 20th century wooden game box. Sawa, who since 2004 has had four solo shows at our New York gallery, will have his first solo exhibition at the Shanghai gallery in April of 2015. Also on view will be new works by Li Shan and Li Wenguang.
