The 7 young artists—Guo Houtong, He Bing, Huang Songhao, Wang Chao, Zhu Changquan and Zhang Jinghua—will have their first public appearances in AM art Space, and all of the artists were born after 1989. During initial preparation of this exhibition, the curator Yao Mengxi invited the three artists He Bing, Huang Songhao and Wang Chao to join in, and then, they invited other artists they have frequently communicated with to participate. A structure of free combination of artists is formed, and they are each other’s intermediary. T

Today, the artists of the generation after 90s have successively graduated and quietly come on stage. Compared to the last generation of artists who practiced under an unclear state, without exception, the new generation of artists is trying to find their own language from the educational system. In the exhibition, a clue of “students' homework” is hidden, and these works consist of the participating artists’ work at school and the works of those artists who have not graduated yet. The “students' homework” is generally understood as the students’ work at school, which is extended as the work is immature like a beginner’s work and has the copying trace, and it has the meaning of belittlement. In this exhibition, the “students' homework” in the traditional sense will be exhibited with the new works at the same time to provide an interflow text for review.

Today, it is difficult for contemporary arts to have period trend and experience, the trends and experiences from all previous periods will reappear, and all of these trends and experience will rush to you. New experience must be mixed in these old experiences and become a component for heritage and development, and the key emphases in work faced by these artists presented in this exhibition are also their advantages. Individualism and collectivism are prescriptions for the generation after 90s at the same time, the artists play to role of creation and organization at the same time, and it is an intermediary structure. This intermediary is not only the intermediary of the status as artists, but also the intermediary between the artist and the audience and art agency. In addition, this kind of intermediary is also dynamic, even the implementation process is a process of self-effacement to generate a new intermediary, the intermediary obscures the established division between status and category, mixes them into a new driving force to drive the generation of new arts, and the intermediary “all new-formed ones become obsolete before they can ossify” (Marx).
