Galerie Tamenaga opened its flagship gallery in Tokyo in 1969. As the first gallery to introduce the Western art in Japan, it has brought to the country the enormous number of works by the modern European masters the asterworks of the Impressionists, Post-Impressionists, and Ecole de Paris, such as Chagall Dufy, Modigliani, Picasso, Renoir, Rouault, Toulouse-Lautrec, Utrillo, VAn Dongen, Vlaminck, and others. Following a substantial growth supported by a worldwide recognition by artists, art dealers, and collectors, in 1971, the gallery expanded its locations in Osaka and Paris. Later in 1994, the Nakanoshina gallery was opened as the forth gallery. Besides the European mesters, contemporary French artists including Aizpiri, Buffet, Guiramand, Cottavaz, Weisbuch and others have been represented by teh gallery on an exclusive contract basis.

In recent years, we have started showing the work of contemporary Japanese Spanish, and American artists: Nuit Sano, Angel Busca, Tom Christopher, and so on. We are now looking to broaden the scope of countries our galleries represent, outreaching the rest of Europe and Asia.
