WassinkLundgren is a collaboration between Thijs groot Wassink (1981) and Ruben Lundgren (1983). They met at the Utrecht School of Arts where they graduated in 2005. They have been working together since, making work often described as conceptual documentary.

Early projects are 'Stadtrundfarht' and 'Shanghai Forest' (both 2005), two publication dealing in a humouristic way with the human control of nature.

Other projects questioned the medium itself. Like the tear-book 'WassinkLundgren Is Still Searching' (2006) where they made the final selection after all the books came back from the printer by tearing out the pictures they disliked. The booklet was included in the selection of best books of Het Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

In 2007 they published the book 'Empty Bottles'. This project shows Chinese scavengers picking up the bottles the photographers put in front of their cameras. This publication won the prestigious Prix du Livre for Best Contemporary Photobook at the Rencontres d'Arles Photofestival 2007. In 2008 it was nominated by Thomas Weski, curator of Haus Der Kunst in Munich, as best photo book of 2007/2008 at the Kasseler Fotoforum. In that same year Martin Parr selected the project for the New Typologies exhibition at the New York Photo Festival.
More recent publications include 'Hans Kemna: Catalogue' (a book that gives an intimate view into the house of a collector, functioning both as an exhibition catalogue and that of a person and his peculiar obsession) and 'Don't Smile Now¡Save it for
Later!'.

Currently Thijs groot Wassink lives in London where he recently finished an MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins. Ruben Lundgren lives in Beijing where he is following an MA at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
