Founded in Oct, 2009 and hosted by the curator Zhang Li, 01100001 is a professional gallery presenting and promoting Chinese contemporary art. Located in Red No.1 at the Caochangdi art village in Beijing, it comprises 400sqm exhibition hall and affiliated space. The gallery works closely with the Chinese contemporary artists and is actively involved in artists’ latest creation. By making exhibitions and publications for both established and emerging artists, it attempts to reexamine the nature and value of the Chinese contemporary art as well as to explore its social significance. 01100001 dedicates itself to fostering effective communications between academic criticism and public art appreciation, and thus contributing to building a sound system for artistic appreciation and value identification.
