Gao Magee Gallery (Madrid) was established in 2008 with the goal of broadening international visibility of Chinese contemporary art. After two years situated in Antonio Maura, at the beginning of 2010, the gallery opened its new space at Dr. Fourquet Street, integrating into one of the contemporary art galleries circuits in Madrid. Located behind Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Gao Magee Gallery (Madrid) is the first gallery in Spain to dedicate its entire exhibition program to Chinese contemporary art.

In the fall of 2008, Gao Magee Gallery opened its second space in the renown 798 Art Zone of Beijing. Housed in the award-winning building designed by Liang Jingyu of Approach Architecture Studio, its multi-layer exhibition space attracts hundreds to thousands of visitors daily. Since its establishment, Gao Magee Gallery has focused its activities on supporting the best of emerging Chinese contemporary artists by organizing critically acclaimed exhibitions, producing academic-quality publications, bringing its artists to art fairs, biennials, festivals and introducing them to public institutions and private collectors worldwide. With its strong academic background, Gao Magee Gallery has a compelling mission of encouraging experimental and cross disciplinary artistic activities. Gao Magee Gallery not only dedicates itself to bringing the best of emerging Chinese contemporary art to a broad audience. It also takes upon its responsibility to bring new visions to Chinese contemporary art by actively facilitating collaboration projects with outstanding galleries, museums and public institutions around the world.

Gao Magee Gallery is a Chinese contemporary art gallery with two locations: one gallery in Madrid, Spain and one in Beijing, China. Gao Magee has a strong focus on Chinese contemporary art, especially newly emerging artists. Gao Magee Gallery is one of the economical supporters of the IAC, the Foundation of Art and Culture of Spain, whose main venture is the Iberia Center for Contemporary Art. www.iberiart.org.
