by Three Shadows Photography Art Centre
Location: Three Shadow Photography Art Centre
Artist(s): Tim YIP
Date: 22 Jun - 27 Sep 2013

People who are familiar with Tim Ip, are mostly aware of his movies, clothing and theater arts, but his photography is often ignored. Yip graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in senior professional photograph and continued his career with photography. Through Yip's extensive work in art, he thinks that hes "more like a photographer, rather than an art director". For him, photography is like walking and talking, something that is natural, which is part of his daily rhythm of life.

In collaboration with Yip, Three Shadows Photography Art Centre is featuring one of the most important exhibition projects this year. The 2500 square meters of exhibition space will be displaying nearly two hundred of Yip's creative photography, video and installation works.

The exhibition's curator Mark Holborn is an internationally renowned art book publisher. He has published a series of art photography in the international community's most influential art books, traveling throughout Europe, America and Asia. He has worked with renowned artists including William Eggleston (William Eggleston, the famous American photographer, color photography originator), Robert Mapplethorpe (Robert Mapplethorpe, USA eighties highly sought after and criticized photographer), Annie Leibovitz (Annie Leibovitz, the famous American female photographer, "Vanity Fair" Queen, known as "the photographer in Zola"), Issey Miyake (famous Japanese fashion designer) and so on. Tim Yip will be the first Chinese artist to cooperate with Mark Holborn. Two visual art experts, will take the audience through the photographic frame to provide individuals with a parallel space in the visible and imaginable worlds, to complete a pair of memory exploration.

In addition, during the last three months of the exhibition, Three Shadows will hold a series of related public events, including lectures, seminars and other celebrities.
