Metamorphosis is the transformation of one state into another, the conversion of one form into another form. Metamorphosis can happen in all fields of mankind or nature and often it is purely imaginative to express philosophical thoughts.
Art itself also is a way of transforming or developing one thing into another a clod of earth can be transformed into a beautiful vase, for example, a white canvas into a picture. Insects like butterflies develop themselves from one state into another. In fact everybody needs to undergo metamorphosis in order to develop and thus see the essentials and important things of life and broaden one´s mind. It is necessary to leave the body mentally and concentrate on philosophical points of view, one could say, in order to merely have a spiritual body. This refreshing process again will lead to another point of view after returning to the physical life again.
Apart from the philosophical meaning of metamorphosis, metamorphosis is one of the main themes of all artists worldwide, especially now that we face more social and environmental challenges and problems every day. Some futuristic question might arise in this context What will transform into which entity- and why If we transform this earth today, what will happen in the future Any interpretation or point of view is subject to metamorphosis, just as the body or profane things like the money- capital as Karl Marx has seen it.
One final thing must be said Metamorphosis excludes the thought of extinguishing, killing and termination. On the contrary, metamorphosis is the development or transformation from one thing into another and bears the thought that a seed cannot end in nothingness, but will always continue to exist in another form. So metamorphosis stands not for the dead-end, but expresses the idea of the constant, infinite and never- ending story.
