Input/Output (I/O) gallery was established in 2009 with a mission to introduce top new media artworks to the public. In 2010, an off-site consultancy sector was set up, bringing new media arts into private sectors through various forms of participation, in government and art institution projects. To kick start 2011, I/O brought in Japanese art performance group, Maywa Denki! Transforming the gallery space into a design store and also inviting them to perform at the Kowloonbay International Trade and Exhibition Centre. The unforgettable performance was a fun blend of art and upbeat music, so much so that the audience of all ages stepped out of their seats to dance on the spot!
With plans to expand, Input/Output is excited to announce its relocation to 28 Tai Ping Shan Street, Sheung Wan. The new space is almost TRIPLE the size of the last which allows greater curatorial freedom. The grand opening will commence at 6:30pm on 28th May 2011, with a TWO month exhibition showcasing interactive installation artworks by local and international elite artists. Local artists, Teddy Lo, Ellen Pau, Samson Young and leading UK artist, Troika are amongst the few artists you will see!
This is an exciting time for Input/Output as we will also be participating in ART HK 11, the most anticipated event of the year in the local art scene. Expect to see exciting new media artworks at Input/Output’s booth (1C12).
*Opening preview for ARTHK VIP will be held on 25th May 12-5pm.
