Following the successful collaboration at last year's Hong Kong International Art Fair, Goethe-Institut Hongkong and Deutsche Bank collaborate again this year to present works of two Hong Kong artists from the Deustche Bank Collection. Entitled 'Urban Utopia - If and only if', the exhibition at the Goethe-Gallery during the period of the Hong Kong International Art Fair (ART HK 11) features Ho Sin Tung and Tang Kwok Hin.
Ho Sin Tung was born in Hong Kong in 1986 and graduated from Fine Arts Department of Chinese University in Hong Kong in 2008. She had her first solo show “Don’t shoot the messenger” held in Hanart TZ Gallery, 2010. Her short film “from end to end” was awarded the 3rd Fresh Wave Short Film Competition – Best Creativity Award in Student Division. A finalist of “The Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Awards 2009” and “Societe Generale Chinese Art Awards 2010”, Ho was awarded “Lui Lup-fun Creative Award” in 2006 and “Hui Yeung Sing Art Award” in 2008.
Tang Kwok Hin, a mixed media artist, was born in 1983. He received his Master of Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2008 and Bachelor of Arts (major in Fine Arts) in 2006. He was awarded the first prize at Hong Kong Biennale 2009; selected by Sovereign Asian Art Prize 2010; awarded the Special Award “Personal Exhibition” by the 5th International Arte Laguna Prize and won the Award for Young Artist (Visual Arts) at the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2010.
