'Casual Pieces 1 - Closing the eyes and mind' is Hasisi Park's first solo exhibition in Korea. He is the young photographer known for his personal project series, monograph, fashion, and music-related photo. His photo has a unique view, experimental technique with a film camera, and narrative created by images. Especially, he has worked as focusing on culture, a view and sensitivity of young generation, and explored the contemporary identity through photograph and video works.
"A story of despair and abandonment, not severance.
It's entirely about loneliness.
Sadness of flowing fragments when closing your eyes and mind."
An object in a photo stares at someone looking at it in own way. When eyes meet, a photo exists as itself. 30 artworks in this exhibition contain the crossing of the gazes delicately.
Those contradiction and desire, conflict between inside and outside overlap in an image, and it creates a story of 'sadness' which mingle all art pieces in the exhibition. The most peaceful and silent landscape, such as sunshine, the beach at night, or a waterfall in the forest, shows the peak of the story. And the artist gathers those stories as 'Casual Pieces', and tells it like unnecessary chatter.
