Located on Hollywood Road at the centre of Hong Kong's art scene, Kumquat Gallery is run by two well known Japanese gallerists. The gallery seeks to introduce a selection of Japanese works including widely recognized Yayoi Kusama and Yoshitomo Nara, as well as emerging and mid-career artists such as photographer Yuki Aoyama. To add diversity, the two-story art space has also done collaborations with overseas galleries exhibiting artworks by non-Japanese artists such as French-Swiss modernist Jean Coulot and Australian street artist Anthony Lister.
