Repeat concept means repeat is not only for the same object or same element. Object or element requires a more profound and rhythmed repeat. Art is exploring such a self-contradictory repeat and thought, isn't it? -- Gilles Deleuze

Dong Dawei's artistic practice presents ample diversity in the aspects of texture, form and concept. Along with such practice accumulation of pursuing diversity, we discover, the outcome of this diversity is completely based on one core concept, that is repeat.

The value of diversity is self-evident, but repeat is not. Kierkegaard once said:" If god does not want repeat, then the world would never be created."   The colorful and vivid world at present just depends on god's work day by day. 

Here, repeat is not a broad concept, and is not to say that a painter is drawing the same picture repeatedly during his life time, but a specific concept. It is a movement first, and then the element repeated by this movement.
