On the Indonesian modern art, The Bandung School artists take centre stage, from the works of Ahmad Sadali to Sunaryo. The star lots are early paintings by two of Bandung School pioneers, Sudjana Kerton and But Muchtar. The But Muchtars come from the estate of General Soewarto, a close friend of the artist and whose wife was a student at the ITB - Institut Teknologi Bandung (Bandung Institute of Technology) back in 1950s.

The sale will also feature important works by Indo-European artists such as Adrien Jean Le Mayeur de Merpres, Antonio Blanco and Arie Smit. The jewel in the crown of the collection is an impeccable and magnificent piece by the Dutch impressionist Isaac Israels titled "Kendang Player". Other highlights also include early lithographs by Chinese masters Zao Wouki and an exceptional work by Indonesia's most established contemporary artist I Nyoman Masriadi.
