Asia Modern and Contemporary Art Auction 2013
by Larasati Auctioneers
Location: Marina Bay Financial Centre
Date: 24 Jan - 26 Jan 2013

Kicking off her series of sales in 2013, LARASATI will present not more than 45 carefully selected and pristine pieces at the sale held in Marina Bay Financial Centre during the same week of the ART STAGE Singapore.

The event will showcase artworks by renowned Southeast Asian and Indo-European masters together with contemporary Japanese and Korean artists. Selected works by traditional Balinese artists will also be among the works offered in Larasati’s 20th Singapore sale. Among the highlights of the auction is a striking work by Antonio Blanco titled Balinese Dancer with Meditating Lord Ardjuna.

Since Larasati's first auction held on 30 April 2000 in Jakarta, Indonesia, the regional auction house’s reputation has grown rapidly for auctioning rare and emerging Indonesian as well as other Asian works at record prices. In 2003, Larasati marked a milestone in its pursuit to become a major player in the Asian market, with its entry into Singapore and becoming the first Asianbased auction house that crossed national borders.

In 2009, Larasati became the first auction house from Southeast Asia to enter Hong Kong, the third largest auction market in the world. In view of growth opportunities and successful operations over the last 10 years, Larasati is expanding and One East Larasati is now the new umbrella for its auction business in Hong Kong and beyond.

Currently, One East Larasati manages its auctions in four different countries: Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.

Larasati will also be collaborating with Marina Bay Suites as the venue for previewing and auctioning of art works. Not only visitors are able to view and admire the exquisite art works in a beautiful atmosphere, they can also have a magnificent view of Marina Bay. Location is easily accessed via public transportation (bus, train or taxi) or by foot as is simply a five-minute walk from Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resorts.

In line with LARASATI’s aim to feature significant works of Indonesian and other Asian fine art, the Larasati’s boutique collection of January 2013 will reflect the evolution and recent development of traditional, modern and contemporary paintings and therefore the auction will not only become a matter of buying and selling art, but also enhance the appreciation of art in the region.
