Leading auction house in Japan

Our parent company, Mainichi Communications Inc.(incumbent Mynavi Corporation), was established in 1973 as a subsidiary of The Mainichi News Papers, one of three major newspapers in Japan. The history of Mainichi Auction Inc. goes back to this date. Our forerunner, Art and Auction Department of Mainichi Communications Inc.(incumbent Mynavi Corporation), started fine art business as a dealer and an art exhibition planner to introduce contemporary European and American prints into Japanese society. From 1989 we began to conduct Mainichi Art Auction (MAA) to establish common and fair fine art trading market in Japan. Owing to our prestigious background and long history, MAA became one of Leading auction house in Japan and we conduct more than 18 auctions a year comprising all genres of fine art.

In 2001, we became independent company Mainichi Communications Inc.(incumbent Mynavi Corporation). The objective of this separation is to vitalize and strengthen our auction business. By concentrating our specialized and well-trained human resources in this field we became overwhelming NO.1 auction house here in Japan with regard to the numbers of sold pieces.

We are fully convinced that we will be able to offer one of the best resources for international buyers and sellers.
