Asian Art Newspaper

The Asian Art Newspaper was launched in November 1997 and true to its original remit, offers a snapshot of what's happening in the world of Asian art around the globe. Our world is truly international - East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian as well as Himalayan arts, combined with coverage from Sydney to Shanghai and from New York to London.

News is important to us, as are profiles of people who make the news. Each month we include an interview with a living artist as well as covering all the major international exhibitions, auctions, art fairs and events, to keep you up to date. We also include the performing arts, film and literature to link the past with the future.

Each year we produce special free guides within the newspaper that cover the main Asia weeks around the world - New York, London and Paris - to help you easily find where to go and what to see. We also have our eye on emerging markets and report on new fairs in China as well as events in India. Asian Art guides outside of the major Asian art weeks have become part of the newspaper's annual output: a West Coast American Museums, a Southeast Asian Museum Guide and, in December, our annual good book/good read reviews of the year.

Not only do we review the major exhibitions around the world, but also include the smaller but no less important ones (just in case you want to visit or get the catalogue). Auctions, art markets and fairs are found at the back of the newspaper along with a comprehensive listings page, which includes conference, lecture and film information.

And if you just want a good read, try one of our feature stories…

Our website updates monthly and offers you archives, back issues, subscriptions, single issues as well as our current guides.

A year of reading the ASIAN ART NEWSPAPER will provide you with
a different editorial focus every month ...
